ProcessOne announces the new version of TextOne
ProcessOne - Marek Foss - November 16, 2010The SMS 2.0 app, TextOne retains all the functions of its long-term predecessor… without the inconveniences.
PARIS, FRANCE - 16 November 2010 - ProcessOne, the French expert in Interpersonal Web communication, announces the new version of TextOne, its smartphone to smartphone messaging app.
Available soon on the Apple App Store, in the same way as its predecessor, TextOne v2 comes in 2 versions: TextOne Classic and TextOne Pink. Version 1.0 (beta) of TextOne continues to be available for Android and Blackberry smartphones.
In order to meet the needs of version 1.0 users, ProcessOne is enriching its app with functions corresponding to new mobile uses. Still just as easy to use, TextOne 2.0 is more interactive and, in particular, enables users to add Facebook contacts to TextOne’s database with a simple click.
E-mail, instant messaging, SMS and social network convergence takes on its full meaning with TextOne. The opportunity to add e-mails to discussions initiated by mobile web surfers on TextOne meets ProcessOne’s wish to accompany users in changes in digital uses.
“The specific feature of version 2.0 of TextOne is its openness. The app is open to Facebook, as well as GTalk discussions and chat type conversations via e-mail” explains Mickaël Rémond, the founder of ProcessOne. “Unlike equivalent systems, which rebuild closed communities, TextOne is based on extensive and open communities of millions of users: Gtalk and all XMPP messaging users, e-mail and Facebook users.” It should be noted that TextOne is also available on iPad and iPod Touch. The app is already accessible on the Android Market and AppStore. Android and BlackBerry apps are currently free of charge. The iPhone app costs €0.79/$0.99.
The four major functions of TextOne v2:
- Insert photos in text discussions
- Integrate e-mails into TextOne conversations. It is now possible to send and receive messages by e-mail. In practice, this means that the user is able to chat by e-mail, including with users which do not have TextOne. E-mail conversations also support photo attachments.
- Federate users with Gtalk. Mobile web surfers are able to chat directly with their Gtalk contacts in TextOne. They just need to launch a conversation via their Gtalk login.
- Launch of a Facebook app helping users to find friends on Facebook who already use TextOne, start a discussion with them and include them in their contact list.

Among TextOne’s other functions:
- Push support and offline messages
- No per message cost
- No complex procedures for accepting contacts
- No presence or status
- Privacy: no need to use your telephone number, which helps to keep your number private. Therefore, this app can be used on iPod Touch and iPad.
- Connect TextOne contacts to the address book to obtain contact names and photos.
