Infoblox is seeking a senior Erlang developer for a next-generation distributed data platform. This person will design and implement in Erlang language for this robust, distributed platform that can support real-time applications with super high scalability. He/she will work hand-in-hand with the senior architects, development leadership and product teams to provide advanced technology development for these new product initiatives.
A deep understanding of the fundamental challenges in building data intensive, distributed platforms including issues with databases, middleware, database sharing, authentication and persistence is highly valued. Proven expertise as an senior software developer/Lead having knowledge of distributed data storage system that scales to a very large size.
Key Responsibilities:
Help design a robust, highly scalable implementation of a data service based on Web 2.0 technologies
Work with architects to provide detailed design and efficient implementation
Work with GUI/client developers to provide end to end technical solutions
Work with testers on setting up highly scalable test environment to verify the scalability of the product
Serve as domain expert in scalable, data intensive applications.
Skills & Requirements:
3+ years of software development role using Erlang.
Proven expertise in design and implementation of scalable, data intensive applications using Web 2.0 technologies.
Strong understanding of cloud computing application development
Strong understanding of data intensive concepts and technologies including databases, middleware, federation, MapReduce, SOAP/REST, sharding, authentication and authorization.
Strong background in several programming languages including C, C++, Java, PERL, Python, PHP.
Experience with emerging platforms like Ruby, Clojure, and XACML is definite plus.
Knowledge of data storage systems such as Google’s Bigtable.
Hands on experience with data warehousing and analytics is definite plus. Experience with network security technologies also a plus.
Four year degree in CS, CE. MS CS/EE is desired.
Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
Ability to think analytically and create efficient solutions to complex problems.
Thrive in a fast paced environment and meet stretch goals
