Junior Erlang Programmer at Klarna (Full-time)
Jobs - - June 15, 2011The year was 2005 and e-commerce had long been precarious. With an idea to offer secure and simple payment solutions, Klarna was founded that same year. Six years have passed and we have grown to an ambitious and creative company of 500 employees. We have been awarded Company of the Year in -07 (bragging), increased our turnover by 13 570 % (statistics) and managed to become the Nordic market leader (facts). Klarna is partly owned by Investment AB Öresund and Sequoia Capital - a company that saw the same potential in Google, YouTube and Apple Computer, as they do in us. We think that is a good start.
Want to join us on a journey beyond the ordinary? Klarna is looking for Junior Software Developers to the office in Stockholm.
Klarna has continuously been growing at a very fast rate since the start in 2005 and is today the Nordic market leader within the e-commerce business. During these 6 years we have gone from three founders to over 500 employees. At the R&D department we are about 50 technicians, and this is only the beginning of our journey of building the best R&D department in the world. We are therefore always keeping an eye out for talented and highly motivated developers who are passionate about creating game changing products within online payments.
At Klarna we process transactions from millions of users, serve more than 10.000 merchants, and handle hundreds of millions of Euros. Our system is mainly written in Erlang and it is excellent if you have experience in Erlang or other functional languages, but it is not a requirement for joining us. Great developers are great regardless of programming language and we expect you to be a top-notch developer and a fast learner. At Klarna you will have the opportunity to take on challenges in areas ranging from risk analysis, process optimization to large-scale web development.
We believe in empowering our developers. Our R&D department is divided in multiple small start-ups. As a member of one of these start-ups you will be involved in the complete product development cycle - from concept to execution. We are a fast paced organization with a strong commitment to quality and agile methodologies.
Who are you?
As a Junior Developer we expect you to be curious and passionate about new technologies. We believe that programming is for you more than a work, it is even a hobby. You probably have your own hobby projects where you experiment and develop your skills.
There is a lot of energy at Klarna and a willingness to create something great. Do you feel like joining us?
Please register your CV together with your cover letter, portfolio and transcript. You apply easily via our website. The selection process is ongoing. The recruitment process includes various tests.
You want…
- to work at one of the fastest growing companies in Sweden where you set the limits.
- to be given the possibility to influence and make a difference within a rapidly growing organization on an international market.
- to have a workplace filled with job satisfaction, a drive to succeed and an entrepreneurial spirit.
